Revised Service Vision |
| In 2006 GFRS introduced the Service Vision which included five strategic aims. One of the main objectives of a Vision is that it provides a sustainable and long term view on where the organisation would like to be in the medium to long term. There is however a need to review the content of any Vision to ensure that any significant change in circumstances are considered. During 2009 this review of the Service Vision was undertaken and a revised document has been prepared which includes an additional strategic aim of Protecting the Environment. This addition was felt necessary due to the introduction of the Climate Change Act (2009) into Scottish legislation. This new legislation sets out targets for carbon reduction which every public sector body will have to contribute towards. The six strategic aims have been enhanced by the inclusion of very ambitious but relevant aspirations which are the focus for all service planning and performance measurement.
