Cooking Fire Reduction Campaign

On Thursday 19 August Grampian Fire and Rescue Service launched their Don’t Fry and Die! cooking fire reduction campaign.

63% of house fires in Grampian start in the kitchen, and are caused by cooking being left unattended on the heat or under grills. In Grampian, in recent years, fires caused during cooking have killed 6 people and injured another 534. The campaign aims to inform the public of the dangers of leaving pans unattended on the heat and under the grill.

Sunday 1st August saw Grampian Fire and Rescue Service scoop the Best Operational Fleet award at the Truckfest Scotland which was held at the Royal Highland Centre, Ingliston, Edinburgh.

CFOAS Recruitment DVD

The Chief Fire Officer's Association Scotland (CFOAS) recently released a DVD entitled Welcome to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

The DVD will provide you with information on a career as a Firefighter in the eight Fire and Rescue Services in Scotland. If you would like to find our more, contact your local Fire and Rescue Service for details.

First on Scene Training for Teenagers
