I am delighted to present the Annual Review for the period 2008-2009. This document covers a range of business related topics including an update on the progress of business plans and the final accounts for that period. It also includes some notable operational incidents and some outstanding examples of where the service continues to work hard to reduce these events down even further. For the first time we report on the progress being made on the many environmental initiatives, an area of increasing importance for us all.

The training review gives an excellent indication of the significant resource and effort that goes into ensuring our staff are trained to the very highest levels. Finally, the service is nothing without its people and the diary section shows very clearly why I am very proud of all our staff and the contribution they make in ensuring this is a very successful organisation.
