Grampian Fire and Rescue Service is proud to announce its Firefighters are currently being kitted out with new breathing apparatus sets.

Approximately 310 new sets have recently been purchased, at a cost of £400,000 and are currently being issued to all fire stations in the Region.

The new sets are lighter than any other set on the market, and will provide firefighters with the greater comfort which will help to reduce wearer fatigue.

Chief Fire Officer David Dalziel said, “The sets are way above specification.  They are lightweight, much more comfortable and most importantly they incorporate the latest technology.

“Firefighters helped us to test and select the sets.  The genuinely feel invested in because the sets meet and exceed all our specifications”.
