On Friday 12 February Grampian Fire and Rescue Service are teaming up with Tesco Express on King Street, Aberdeen to promote home fire safety.

From 10.30am until 2.30pm firefighters will be at the Tesco Express store to provide advice to shoppers on all aspects of home fire safety.

As well as receiving goodie bags, shoppers will have the chance to sign up for a FREE home fire safety visit and when they do so they will be entered into a free prize draw to win an IPod Shuffle!

Anyone who can’t make it to Tesco Express but would still like to sign up for a FREE home fire safety visit can do so by calling 01224 696666, emailing: info@grampianfrs.org.uk or by texting FIRE to 61611.

Home Fire Safety Visits

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service can provide a free home fire safety visit to all residents of Grampian, and if required, provide and fit a free smoke alarm, including smoke alarms for the deaf or hard of hearing.

This safety check is carried out by firefighters from a local fire station, and will take approximately 20 minutes. They will look at all areas of fire risk within your home, fit smoke alarms where necessary and advise you on their maintenance. They will also give advice and information on how to stay safe from fire, including kitchen hazards, candles, heaters, electric blankets, safe disposal of smoking materials and the points to consider when making a home fire escape plan.
